### 107. Q. Is it enough then that we do not murder our neighbor in any such way? **A**. No. By condemning envy, hatred, and anger God wants us to love our neighbors as ourselves,1 to be patient, peace-loving, gentle, merciful, and friendly toward them,2 to protect them from harm as much as we can, and to do good even to our enemies.3 1 [Matt. 7:12](/index.php/get-passage/Matthew+7:12); [22:39](/index.php/get-passage/Matthew+22:39); [Rom. 12:10](/index.php/get-passage/Romans+12:10) 2 [Matt. 5:3-12](/index.php/get-passage/Matthew+5:3-12); [Luke 6:36](/index.php/get-passage/Luke+6:36); [Rom. 12:10](/index.php/get-passage/Romans+12:10), [18](/index.php/get-passage/Romans+12:18); [Gal. 6:1-2](/index.php/get-passage/Galatians+6:1-2); [Eph. 4:2](/index.php/get-passage/Ephesians+4:2); [Col. 3:12](/index.php/get-passage/Colossians+3:12); [1 Pet. 3:8](/index.php/get-passage/1+Peter+3:8) 3 [Ex. 23:4-5](/index.php/get-passage/Exodus+23:4-5); [Matt. 5:44-45](/index.php/get-passage/Matthew+5:44-45); [Rom. 12:20-21](/index.php/get-passage/Romans+12:20-21) ([Prov. 25:21-22](/index.php/get-passage/Proverbs+25:21-22))
